Guess who back to blogging in 2017?
Every writer knows all about the gripping guilt, that comes when you stop writing for an extended period of time.
One week rolls into a month…
One month rolls into two, and by the fourth, the pressure you’ve put on yourself becomes unbearable.
That was me.
In between moving back to London, starting my MA at the University of London, breaking up with the German and a stream of horrid health issues, I basically just dropped off the radar.
But I’m still here.
I’m lucky to have such an amazing support network of caring loving people that have held me up, each and every step of the way. I don’t think I could have done it without them.
Now, my calendar for the next few weeks is choc-a-bloc with events, on top of my usual university commitments, and I’m starting a new job. Things are looking up!
I’ve always been against New Year’s resolutions but I’ll break with my
anti-tradition and give you mine. It’s something I’ve been employing and it’s served me well:
When things look bad around you, take all the time you need to process. Lick your wounds, watch a chick-flick (or a million) but know that you have to get back up.
Accept that you will be vulnerable at times, but also don’t beat yourself too much about it.
I have oodles and oodles to backdate, so expect random blog posts at all hours of the day.
Happy New Year Guys
Let’s make each opportunity count.
